Welcome to Vine Middle Performing Arts and Sciences Magnet School!

Vine Middle Magnet Performing Arts and Sciences Academy offers middle school students the opportunity to extend their study in science and take their art to the stage. Focused on core academic classes for all ability levels, Vine Middle Magnet provides related arts rotation classes in Music, Technology, Art, Computer, Health and Physical Education, and the opportunity to choose a class of interest for the entire year.

Space and Astronomy and Environmental Science can be added to the core science program during any of the three years at Vine. Eighth grade students may be recommended for Anatomy/Physiology, Chemistry/Physics or Appalachian Mountain Science based on their strong work ethic and science accomplishments. Lab work and collaboration with experts in the field make this an exciting alternative to the traditional science course of study.

Performing Arts students choose and perform in a wide range of courses in drama, dance, fine art, choral or instrumental music. Classes such as Theatre, Modern Dance, West African Dance and Drumming, Ballet, Orchestra, Hand Bells, Claymation, Yearbook and Advanced Art are just a selection of the possible choices. Video technology, computer lab and television broadcasting complete the information technology core. Performing Arts and Information Technology teachers are artists themselves with a desire to bring their art form to the education world. Vine Middle Magnet students find sports, extra-curricular clubs, and academic competitions as options throughout the school year.
