6TH GRADE COMPUTER ART Ms. Jorgenson Room B-2
DESCRIPTION Computer Art classes lasts a semester and focuses on using the computer to create artwork. There will also be some use of digital cameras. Traditional art projects will be interspersed with technological ones. 6th grade students who earn an A or B in computer art may be recommended for an Advanced Art class such as Advanced Art & Photography next year. GRADES ARE BASED ON: ATTITUDE Participation (including clean-up!) ART PROJECTS Effort (not talent) Following Directions Finishing Projects on time Creativity, Craftsmanship, & Completion How projects are graded: A Excellent work: completed project with all directions followed, and well above and beyond effort required. B Good work: completed project with all directions followed with above average effort. C Average work; project is completed, and directions are followed. D Below average work: project is not quite completed, or directions are not completely followed. U Unacceptable work: project is incomplete and/or directions are not followed. Students who not completed their assignments will have until the end of the current grading period to finish their work and bring up theirgrades. There will be a grade penalty however. ART CLASS RULES These are the rules that the art students created for class. Have RESPECT to get respect. CLEAN UP after yourself. Talk QUIETLY; please don't argue. LISTEN when the teacher is talking. CLASSROOM PROCEDURES Place belongings on the cabinet shelf. No food or gum in class. Be seated quietly and ready to begin when the bell rings. Remain in your seat except when given permission to get up. Look on the board for instructions. Raise your hand and wait for your turn to speak. Art equipment and materials are expensive and are to be handled properly. No hand washing until your area is clean. Return to your seat after clean-up.
