Educational Philosphy:
Good teaching comes from good learning. All students are to work toward becoming wise learners, and refuse to become foolish failures.
Vine Middle Magnet School is a Project Grad School and implements the MOVE IT Math
program as its Mathematics curriculum. MOVE IT math is a student-centered program designed to improve math skills, promote math “discovery” rather than math “memorization,” and increase understanding of basic mathematical principles through the use of manipulative-based hands-on experiences.
MOVE IT Math has been aligned with both the State of Tennessee assessed Performance Indicators and Knox County Schools mathematics curriculum to build the student’s foundation for mathematical concepts to succeed in algebra, geometry, and advanced mathematics. Students in Project GRAD Mathematics will participate in five Six Week benchmark assessments to
provide teachers with an assessment tool to gauge student understanding of Accomplishments and State Performance Indicators addressed during the covered weeks of instruction.

(Students are expected to keep a notebook or spiral)
1.Notebook must be kept neat and in order at all times.
2.Notebook must contain all work.
3.Each page must have a full heading.
